28 Sep SmartGreenEcos Newsletter Issue 2: From Outreach to Action
SmartGreenEcos has released the second issue of its project newsletter, covering the period from February to July 2026.
During these months, the project moved into a more action-oriented phase. Partners strengthened direct engagement with dairy SMEs and value-chain stakeholders across Cyprus, Greece, Tunisia and Jordan, while advancing co-design activities and preparations for the four interconnected SmartGreenEcos digital platforms.
The new issue takes readers through some of the main developments of the period, including national and regional SME outreach, targeted company engagement, the evolving co-design process and the translation of business needs into practical platform requirements.
Inside Issue 2:
- SME engagement and outreach progress across the four participating countries;
- how SmartGreenEcos is moving from listening to SMEs towards co-designed digital solutions;
- progress towards the AI-based Benchmarking & Optimisation, Capacity Building, Digital Procurement and Collaborative New Product Development platforms;
- a spotlight on Tunisia’s dairy value chain and stakeholder engagement activities;
- an interview with Professor Emeritus Nicos Komninos of URENIO Research on SME benchmarking, AI and the green and digital transition;
- the SmartGreenEcos project video and the story behind its SME-focused narrative; and
- the main priorities for the next phase of project implementation.
The newsletter also shows how partners are adapting their engagement approaches to different national contexts while working towards the same objective: creating a Mediterranean ecosystem where SMEs can collaborate, strengthen their capabilities and contribute directly to the design and testing of SmartGreenEcos services.
